Nicely done. I liked how you ended the music and took the cassette tape about around the same time. You had good angles from where you shot from. I think more scenes and images would have helped depict what you wanted here for the emotion.
I liked the shots! The vignette was a great choice, I like the hazed white edges, it really added to the feel, of course my only critique is if you could find a way to make your music last the entirety of your video that would only strengthen it!
I loved the beginning and end in which you showed a tape being put in a player and taking it out. I also enjoyed the overall lightness of it and variety in shots and activities. Good song choice as well!
Your concept is great, and having all those "old" systems and toys really pushed the idea of nostalgia through. Your shot where you are looking at your feet from above while riding the scooter was very creative and I really enjoyed it. Overall, nice work!
I really liked how everything went together to really convey nostalgia: the music, the objects and the sepia tone. I think that this video did really well in relaying the emotion. There were a few shots in a row that were taken from the same angle, I wish you would have switched it up a bit. Overall it's really nice!
I liked the way you used the tape track to bring in the audio. I also really liked the filter you placed over the whole video; that and the warmth of your shots made the video feel like a memory.
Great video! It really brought me back to my childhood. You clearly portray your emotion. The only suggestion I have is to switch your last two frames. Your music ends and fades out when the dog is in the frame so maybe have the cassette taken out right when the music ends and then the stuffed dog waving bye to end it.
I felt the vignette added a nice effect to the video overall and the song fit perfectly! I t made me remember my elementary days!

ReplyDeleteI enjoyed seeing all the things from the 80s-90s, the square format also adds to the nostalgia too. Nice video.
ReplyDeleteLike the choice of elements you used to represent nostalgia. Even the filter gave the film a sense of nostalgia, almost like it was shot in the 90s.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed your relaying of your emotion, definitely brought back some good memories as a kid. Very smooth transitions and shots.

ReplyDeleteYour use of vignette conveys your theme quite well. I also could relate to many of your nostalgic things.
